GESTIONVAL ODNODN INFRASTRUCTURE Technical Inquiry

Network Rack Grounding Resistance

Server racks must be grounded to ensure electrical safety, prevent equipment damage from power surges, and mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI). Proper grounding creates a low-resistance path (≤5 ohms per NEC 250. Bonding (or grounding) is a system of protective measures, which is implemented to prevent electric shocks when touching metal parts of energy-powered equipment. The whole structure consists of a metal circuit, a protect bus, and a ground wire. Network hardware is connected to PDUs and constantly. Grounding server racks is a critical aspect of data center infrastructure, ensuring both operational reliability and personnel safety. I just realized my rack has a grounding point.

You do not want to create a ground loop. If you had a true ground to earth (earth ground) you could use a bus bar system inside of the rack that attaches to earth ground via "at least" 6awg copper cable.
